George V. Mathew – Chief Executive Officer

gmatthewsGeorge Mathew was appointed the Chief Executive Officer of PNG Microfinance Ltd on 30th March 2011. He has vast experience Banking and Microfinance industry in having been engaged as a Consultant in several World Bank/IFC and UN Capital Development Fund funded projects and has held several senior management positions including the position of Vice President, Corporate Human Resources of BASIX, a leading microfinance institution based in India prior to his appointment as CEO of PNG Microfinance Ltd.

Basse Robert – Chief Financial Officer

brobertBasse Robert is an accountant by profession. He had experience working with the Steamships Group of Companies for 3 years as a graduate accountant. Prior to joining PNG Microfinance Ltd he was with Bank of Papua New Guinea as an internal Auditor for 3 years. He also serves as treasurer for the Information Systems Audit & Control Association (ISACA PNG), a non-profit international organization that engages in development, adoption and use of globally accepted, industry-leading knowledge and practices for information systems. He is also Treasurer for the Institute of Internal Auditors (PNG Chapter). A position he has been holding since 2010. He holds a Degree in Business (Accounting) from the Pacific Adventist University.

Danny Koka- Head of Credit & Branch Operations

dkokaDanny Koka has 10 years of experience in the banking industry and previously worked with Bank South Pacific (BSP) for three years as Team Leader Consumer Lending.  He joined PNG Microfinance Limited (PML) in 2008 and held several positions such as Senior Loan officer, Senior Branch Manager, Area Manager, Credit Manager and Head of Credit over the period with the organisation. He holds Bachelor Degree in Commerce (Accountancy) from University of Papua New Guinea.

Nick Frani – Manager Corporate Affairs & Risk.

nfraniNick Frani has 18 years of banking experience with the former PNG Banking Corporation. He was among the 10 pioneer staff recruited in January, 2005 to establish and launch the first PML branch at Koki. In 2009, Nick was appointed as the Internal Audit Officer and then subsequently confirmed to the position of Manager Internal Audit & Risk in the same year.
Nick holds a Diploma in Business, majoring in Accounting, and also a Diploma in Business, majoring in Management from the International Training Institute, Port Moresby.
Nick Frani is also a Certified Internal Auditor and a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors PNG (IIA PNG). Due to internal changes at the senior management level in 2013, Nick has been appointed on promotion to Manager Corporate Affairs & Risk since October of the same year.

James Magung – Manager ICT

james-magungJames Magung has many years of experience in planning, designing, implementing, supporting and managing major ICT infrastructure.  He served as the Executive Manager – ICT with Telikom PNG, Manager – ICT with SP Brewery and Nambawan Super before joining PNG Microfinance in December, 2015.  James holds a Bachelor of Science Degree majoring in Physics and Computing from the University of Papua New Guinea and a Masters degree in Information Systems from Victoria University, Wellington, New Zealand.

Lornah Yamba – Manager Human Resource

Lornah holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Majoring in Human Resourcelornah-yamba Management from the University of Papua New Guinea, a Diploma in Education and an Associate Member of the PNG Human Resource Institute.
A total of eight years working experience in senior Human Resource roles as Human Resource Manager and Coordinator.  Served as a Public Servant with the Department of Education and Department of Higher Education for ten years, worked as Human Resource Coordinator for Media Niugini Limited (EMTV) and Airlines PNG (PNG Air), worked as Human Resource Manager for Population Services International, Port Moresby Nature Park, and currently Human Resource Manager for PNG Microfinance Limited since 2015.
